Koi keeping on a Veranda

Nishikigoi may also be kept on a veranda. The space is much larger than that available in the house and the Koi can grow much bigger. The aquarium is equipped with a filter so even if you have no garden, it is possible to keep Koi as if you are keeping them in a pool.

Preparation

  • Aquarium
  • Water filter
  • Water thermometer
  • Dechlorinator
  • Fish net
  • Screen to protect from sun
  • Food

Setup

  • Choose a suitable position
  • Add water and dechlorinator
  • Connect equipment and switch on
  • Add Nishikigoi
  • Finished!

Daily Maintenance

Give food 2-3 times a day. Give only enough to be eaten within a few minutes. Once every 2-3 weeks, change 1/3 of the water and remove any mulm and detritus from the bottom of the aquarium.
